Job Summary
Helping Mamas seeks a motivated, detail-oriented student to join our team as a Program & Development Assistant through a work study program. This part-time role offers hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, program support, donor relations, and volunteer engagement. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about making a difference and gaining real-world experience in the nonprofit sector.
This position requires travel to assigned Helping Mama's locations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing, organizing, and inventorying program supplies (diapers, wipes, hygiene kits, etc.)
- Assist staff with mobile distribution events and partner agency pickups
- Assist with partner shopping as needed
- Research potential donors and grant opportunities
- Support special campaigns (e.g., diaper drives, fundraising events)Help greet and orient volunteer groups
- Assist in preparing materials and supplies for volunteer activities
- Attend weekly check-in meetings with supervisor
- Help staff front desk
- Bring in in-kind donations and sort in volunteer room as needed
- Help with warehouse organization and occasional errands
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Must have Federal Work Study award
- Must be enrolled a minimum of 6 credits at Georgia Gwinnett College
- Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment.
- Must be in good conduct standing with Georgia Gwinnett College and maintain good conduct for the duration of employment.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work sites as required by the position.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
- Basic computer skills; experience with Excel or databases a plus
