Job Title: Core Faculty – Family Medicine Residency Program
Location: Resurrection Medical Center, Chicago, IL
Organization: Prime Healthcare of Illinois
Position Type: Full-time, Core Faculty (Clinical/Educator)
Reports To: Program Director, Family Medicine Residency
Position Summary:
Resurrection Medical Center, a community-centered teaching hospital in the heart of northwest Chicago, is seeking a committed and passionate Core Faculty member to join our ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program. This individual will play a vital role in educating and mentoring residents while actively participating in clinical practice, curriculum development, scholarly activity, and residency program administration.

About Resurrection Medical Center and Prime Healthcare:
Resurrection Medical Center is a state-of-the-art, nationally recognized teaching hospital located on Chicago's northwest side, serving residents of the area and surrounding suburbs since 1953. It provides expert, compassionate care through a comprehensive range of services, including emergency, maternity, inpatient, surgical, cardiovascular, orthopedic, and stroke care.

As part of Prime Healthcare of Illinois, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality, evidence-based, and compassionate care, while fostering academic excellence in training the next generation of family physicians.


Resident Education and Supervision:

  • Provide direct supervision and instruction to residents in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Deliver didactic lectures, case conferences, and procedure training aligned with ACGME competencies.
  • Serve as a mentor and advisor for resident physicians, guiding professional growth and well-being.
  • Fulfill the ACGME requirement of at least 0.6 FTE devoted to residency education of which a combination may be clinical and non-clinical.

Curriculum Development and Administration:

  • Collaborate with the Program Director and faculty in curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Participate in Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) and Program Evaluation Committee (PEC).
  • Contribute to resident assessments, milestone reporting, and board preparation.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an active clinical practice in the hospital’s outpatient clinic and inpatient service.
  • Model evidence-based, compassionate family-centered care.

Scholarly Activity:

  • Engage in scholarly activities including quality improvement, research, and professional presentations or publications, in alignment with ACGME faculty requirements.

Program Development:

  • Assist in recruitment, interviewing, and selection of residents.
  • Promote a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and continuous learning.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certified in Family Medicine by the ABFM or AOBFP.
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice medicine in the State of Illinois.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience post-residency (preferred).
  • Prior experience in graduate medical education or academic teaching (preferred).
  • Demonstrated commitment to resident education, clinical excellence, and scholarly contribution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ACGME residency program structure and requirements.
  • Competence in providing culturally responsive care to a diverse patient population.
  • Experience or interest in areas such as community medicine, women’s health, or behavioral health.
