Overview:
We are seeking a results-driven Director of Business Development to lead growth initiatives across our Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) division. This role is ideal for a highly motivated healthcare business development professional with a proven track record of driving referrals, developing strategic partnerships, expanding market presence, and exceeding growth goals.
The Director of Business Development will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, increasing referral sources, strengthening community relationships, analyzing market opportunities, and supporting the expansion of behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment services. This individual will work closely with operational leadership to drive patient growth, improve market penetration, and support strategic expansion initiatives throughout assigned regions.
The successful candidate understands how to build and maintain strong referral networks, develop trust with key stakeholders, and turn market intelligence into measurable business results.
PURPOSE STATEMENT:
The CTC Director of Business Development (DBD) is primarily responsible for evaluating external opportunity
assessments, intelligence gathering, and analysis of the marketplace for aiding in siting, creating and uncovering business opportunities which expand the Division's operational services. These opportunities will lie in, but not limited to: De Novo CTCs, Relocations, OBOTs, Mobile Vans, Mobile Components, Medication Units, and any local (HOC), state (DOC) or federal (FBP) incarceration facility. The DBD is expected to work closely with but not limited to: Regional Project & Facilities Manager(s), CTC Regional VPs, CTC Regional Directors and Clinic Directors.

Calculated Salary Range for role: $95,000/year - 120,000/year
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Referral Development & Census Growth
  • Develop and execute business development strategies that increase referrals and drive patient census growth.
  • Establish, cultivate, and maintain relationships with referral sources including healthcare providers, hospitals, behavioral health organizations, community agencies, correctional facilities, and government stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to expand market share through strategic partnerships and community outreach initiatives.
  • Create and implement territory growth plans designed to achieve and exceed referral and revenue targets.
  • Regularly analyze referral trends, market data, and growth opportunities to maximize business performance.
Strategic Business Development
  • Identify new markets and evaluate opportunities for expansion, including de novo facilities, relocations, correctional partnerships, mobile services, medication units, and OBOT programs.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and business intelligence gathering to support strategic decision-making.
  • Present data-driven recommendations and business cases to senior leadership.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of growth opportunities and business development initiatives.
Relationship Management
  • Serve as a key ambassador for the organization within the behavioral health and healthcare communities.
  • Build strong relationships with industry leaders, referral partners, state agencies, and community stakeholders.
  • Attend industry conferences, networking events, and trade association meetings to identify opportunities and strengthen referral networks.
  • Collaborate with operations, clinical leadership, marketing, legal, and executive teams to support growth initiatives.
Market Expansion & Project Support
  • Support due diligence, site selection, and expansion activities related to new facility development.
  • Assist with licensing applications, Certificates of Need (CONs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and other expansion-related initiatives.
  • Participate in meetings with state and local officials to support growth opportunities and regulatory compliance efforts.

STANDARD EXPECTATIONS:
  • Comply with organizational policies, procedures, performance improvement initiatives and maintain organizational and industry policies regarding confidentiality.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively to the person(s) receiving services and their family members, guests, and other members of the health care team.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
  • Encourage and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of experience directly related to business development, preferably in the Healthcare industry.
  • Behavioral Health field most relevant.
  • Experience in clinical, finance, medical, health, business and Real Estate preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the healthcare field with emphasis on business development, managing lease/PSA contracts, and setting up de novo medical facilities from inception.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health and substance abuse industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen and data analytical skills.
  • Ability to make and defend expansion recommendations based off data analysis into presentation format.
  • Ability to work professionally with sensitive, proprietary data & information while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
  • Capable of working within established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the organization.
  • Remote based position but must be willing to travel as needed.
  • Experience with Commercial Real Estate transactions is preferred.
