TITLE:

Youth Development Professional (YDP)

Performance Profile Source:

DEPARTMENT:

Program Operations

REPORTS TO:

Director of Program Development, Unit Director,

Exempt Non-Exempt

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The YDP is responsible for: ensuring youth development principles are incorporated into programs and activities; providing guidance and discipline to ensure a safe and positive environment for youth; ensuring the incorporation of character development, age appropriate and gender-specific programs and activities; ensuring that cultural diversity programs are implemented. Assisting in the planning, implementation, and delivery of exciting and engaging educational activities and programs for youth ages 6-7, 8-9, 10-12, and 13-18. Delivering a broad range of tournaments, on the spot fun drop in games and activities in all Club Areas. All equipment and supplies are maintained and cared for on a daily basis. Assist Unit Director, Director of Program Development and Director of Operations at all times. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIRMENTS:

Knowledge

Knowledge of youth development principles and practices, procedures and resources related to all program areas.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Some college preferred or equivalent experiences or trainings with youth ages 6-18 years. Certified in CPR and first Aid

Experience

Minimum of one year of experience working with youth ages 6-18.

Need to be able to run more than one activity and control a large group of 25

Relationships

Internal:

Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff, including supervisor (professional and volunteer) and Club members to receive/provide information, discuss issues, and explain guidelines/give instructions/instruct and advise/counsel.

External:

Maintain contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in promoting and marketing the Club and resolving challenges when appropriate.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Experience in working with youth.

  • Knowledge of youth development.
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
  • Ability to deal with the general public.
  • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.

Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.

  • Valid State Drivers License to satis%r insurance company regulations to drive Club vehicles

Environmental and Working Conditions:

Work is conducted in a Club setting, indoor and outside.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Maintain a high energy level

Be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities Lift 50 pounds
