Position Overview:ย 

BLN24 has an exciting opportunity for a Program Coordinator to supportย theย National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Thisย positionย serves asย a trustedย resource forย multidisciplinary research, coordination, and stakeholder engagement activities thatย advanceย NOAA's weather, climate, water, and environmental researchย mission.ย 

Working closely withย programย managers, scientists, researchers, and stakeholders, this individual will support NOAA scientific programs and portfolios throughย planning,ย workshop facilitation, reporting, communications, risk tracking, and operational support.ย This role plays an important part in fostering collaboration, facilitating scientific innovation, and supporting the successful delivery of NOAA research initiatives and mission priorities.ย 
Key Responsibilities:ย 

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of scientific research, stakeholder engagement, and mission-support initiatives across NOAA programs and portfolios.ย 

  • Serve as a liaisonย betweenย NOAA leadership, researchers, Cooperative Institutes, academic partners, Federal agencies, and contractor personnel to facilitate collaboration.ย 

  • Coordinate scientific workshops, conferences, technical exchanges, stakeholder engagements, training events, community outreach activities, and special initiatives.ย 

  • Support research-to-operations (R2O), transition-to-operations (T2O),ย operations to research (O2R),ย and innovation initiatives that advance NOAA's weather, climate, water, and environmental missions.ย 

  • Develop and maintain program management documentation includingย project managementย plans, project schedules, risk registers, MSRs, performance metrics, and dashboards to ensure on-time delivery of contract deliverables.ย 

  • Manage operational logistics including meeting facilitation, preparation of agendas, briefing materials, and summaries, and coordination of onboarding, training, and travel in accordance with NOAA and Federal requirements.ย

Required Qualifications:ย 

  • Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, Environmental Science, Public Policy, Business Administration, or related discipline;ย Master'sย degree strongly preferred.ย 

  • Minimum six (6) years of experience supporting scientific research programs, research coordination, stakeholder engagement activities, program management, Federal initiatives, or mission-support operations.ย 

  • Experienceย preparing technical reports, briefing materials, presentations, and program performance documentation.ย 

  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.ย 

  • Ability to obtain and maintain required NOAA facility, security, and IT accessย
