Summary of Job Duties:The Graduation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating graduation procedures and commencement ceremonies for the University of Arkansas campus. This includes coordinating program completion applications, college program completion approvals with various academic colleges and departments as well as coordinating all campus units and private vendors involved with preparing all student records and event planning needed to deliver all campus commencement ceremonies which currently include two ceremonies in December to recognize summer and fall graduates and ten ceremonies in May to recognize spring and summer graduates.
This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least three years of experience in program coordination and/or event planning

  • Experience with MS Office applications

  • Experience cleaning, manipulating, and summarizing data, particularly academic data

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience planning large student and campus events

  • Experience collecting and manipulating college student academic information

  • Work experience in higher education

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently, organize and analyze data with attention to detail under deadline pressure, as well as handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities

  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

  • Ability to lead large groups, organize information and event details, and lead large group planning meetings
