Job description

Job Title: Program Coordinator (Bigs with Badges)

Service Areas: Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas Counties

Position Summary

The Program Coordinator (Bigs with Badges) is responsible for the oversight of programs consistent with the goals of the Strategic Plan. Primary responsibilities include continued development of relationships with identified partners, data input, planning, and coordinating of Bigs with Badges-facilitated program and enrolling, creating, supporting, and maintaining matches in program.

In addition, this position will ensure that volunteers and children are appropriately enrolled and matched while executing a high degree of independent judgment when utilizing Big Brothers Big Sisters standards and practices and to provide match support to ensure child safety, positive impacts for youth, constructive and satisfying relationships between children and volunteers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent and meet one of the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, counseling, child development, or a related field from an accredited college or university; candidates within six months of degree completion may also be considered.
  • An Associate degree or completion of two years of higher education in a related field (human services, social work, counseling, child development) from an accredited institution, plus two years of relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant work experience in fields such as social services, counseling, child development, or other agency-defined related areas.

Preferred 2- years’ experience working with teens or volunteers.

Experience building partnerships and linking resources.

Required high-level proficiency in applying child safety and risk management knowledge, policies, and procedures.

Strong oral and written communications skills, public speaking experience preferred

Demonstrate Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Power Point and Excel.

Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums.
