Location: Brandon, MB.

Status: This is a casual seasonal position with the opportunity for a full-time permanent role at the end of the season. Schedules are job-specific, and this position is expected to end on or after November 30, 2026. Shifts may include days, evenings, and weekends, with overtime hours available. While the position is casual, full-time availability is required during peak construction season.

About the Position

ATS Traffic Brandon is seeking Seasonal Traffic Technicians (Traffic Control Coordinators) to join our team. Do you enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather? Are you motivated, hardworking and looking for your new opportunity? If so, consider joining ATS Traffic's On-Street Services team as a Traffic Technician!

In this essential role, Traffic Technicians will be responsible for setting up and managing traffic control in a variety of environments, including cities, highways, construction sites, and major events such as music festivals or sporting events. Technicians will be tasked with setting up lane closures, road closures, and detours to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow around construction sites, events, and other high-traffic areas. The role may involve overseeing flaggers on large construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and traffic control procedures. Traffic Technicians may also be required to perform flagging duties on projects, as needed.

Traffic Technicians will also conduct field-level hazard assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring all work sites comply with traffic safety regulations. Additionally, the position requires physically setting up and removing traffic control devices such as barricades, pylons, signage, and digital messaging boards, along with performing flagging duties as required. This role plays a crucial part in the safe design and implementation of lane and road closures, ensuring smooth and secure traffic flow in various dynamic settings.

Qualifications
  • A valid Class 5F Driver’s License and a Clean 3-Year Regular Drivers Abstract is required for this position and to drive our company vehicles.
  • Your own reliable means of transportation to get to and from the office each day for your shifts
  • As this is a safety-sensitive role, all candidates must undergo and pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Test. Note: All safety-sensitive positions have a zero tolerance policy marijuana, medical or recreational.
  • Ability to successfully pass a Fit Test including lifting between 50 and 75 pounds.
  • A valid Traffic Control Coordinator and/or Flagger Certificate is an asset, however ATS covers the cost and provides ALL training and tickets to get you started!
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): All you need to bring is a pair of CSA Approved Safety Boots on your first day - we will cover the rest.
  • Available to work overtime during days, evenings, weekend shifts as needed for the schedule.
  • Ability to travel for work out of town, overnight hotel stays required.
