Health Unit Coordinator

Location: Guardian Angels Care Center – Elk River, MN
Salary Range: $20.70 - $25.31/Hour (Based on Experience

Schedule:
  • 10am - 6:30pm Schedule.
  • Part time, working 64 hours per pay period (2 Weeks).
  • Must be available to work every 3rd Saturday
Position Summary:

The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) assists residents and nursing personnel by performing clerical duties necessary on the assigned nursing unit including arranging resident appointments, transportation, filing, answering telephones and transcribing physician orders. Services are provided in accordance with the mission of Guardian Angels.

Job Duties:
  • Coordinates clerical services on assigned nursing stations or other work stations as assigned.
  • Acts as point of service contact for residents and visitors at nursing stations or other work stations as assigned.
  • To assist in providing a dignified, respectful, resident-centered environment for residents.
  • Follows universal precautions, facility infection control guidelines, sanitation and safety standards of practice in all work and activities.
  • All duties will be performed in accordance with current standards, guidelines, state and federal regulations.
  • Uphold confidential information as required by Guardian Angels Care Center policy and procedure and as related to HIPPA.
  • Uphold the mission, vision, and values of the Guardian Angels of Elk River.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a Health Unit Coordinator program or prior experience.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Detail oriented, accurate.
  • Excellent verbal and written (read, write) communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, ability to prioritize.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Maintains good attendance and punctuality
