SUMMARY STATEMENT

The Allied Health Manager Program Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, planning, development, implementation, operation, supervision, and evaluation of the continuing education courses and related contract training for Allied Health programs. Program including but not limited to Nursing, Certified Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomy, Dental, Medical Assistant, Paramedic, Massage Therapy, Mental Health Professionals, and Health and Wellness.

The Allied Health Manager must be highly organized, exhibit good communication, networking and team work skills and be both innovative and visionary to grow current programs and create new ones.


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

A. Allied Health Manager Program Manager reports directly to the Dean of Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education.

B. Coordinates most closely with, the operational staff in the Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education including program managers, workforce program coordinator, program coordinators, and support staff; credit and non- credit faculty, staff, instructors, In addition, this position collaborates with external agencies including businesses, vendors and other partners within the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

A. Administers and evaluates courses, programs, seminars and customized trainings for healthcare professional development specifically for the following programs:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • Phlebotomy
  • Nurse Refresher
  • Massage Therapy
  • Paramedic
  • Community Healthcare Worker
  • Delegating Nursing
  • Other allied health topics

B. Recruits, interviews and on boards instructors to teach current and new courses in program area; works with instructors to develop course content and course syllabus.

C. Determines pricing and production expenses and promotion methods for open enrollment courses and related contract trainings.

D. Achieves enrollment goals and financial objectives in terms of gross revenue and FTEs.

E. Manages customer service across all allied health Workforce Solutions programs.

F. Works closely with Marketing Coordinator to develop marketing materials and campaigns that promote programs/courses locally and nationally.

G. Stays up to date on current local, state and national information and trends in programming areas, continuing education, and Accreditation requirements.

H. Builds relationships with community partners and businesses to meet the industry and local educational needs.

I. Meets regularly with local businesses to assess professional development and upskilling needs.

J. Attends community association meetings that are related to this program area.

K. Works cooperatively with other program managers and staff to complete tasks undertaken by Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education and college community.

L. Works with other program managers and areas to develop new programs and increase overall WSCE enrollment.

M. Assigned from time to time to do projects outside of core assignment areas, based on work volume or other criteria as established by the division dean.

N. Collaborates with college staff on grant proposals and tasks.

O. Plans and executes Allied Health Pinning Ceremony.

P. Represents Hagerstown Community College at the Maryland Community College Community Education Affinity Group meetings and works cooperatively with other Maryland Community Colleges on programs of mutual benefit.

Q. This position has autonomy over budget management and allocation for Allied Health programs and must be managed in accordance with College Policies and Procedures.
