Position Title: Program Manager
Reports To: Chief Commercial Officer
Supervises: Manufacturing Expediter
Classification: Salaried, exempt, non-union
Position Summary
The Program Manager is responsible for end-to-end execution of Weldaloy's largest customer programs, ensuring each process and operational requirement is completed on or before the committed due date. This role owns program schedules, milestones, and delivery commitments, proactively identifies risk, removes roadblocks, and drives cross-functional accountability across Engineering, Metallurgy, Sales, Supply Chain, and Production. The Program Manager serves as the central point of coordination for internal teams and (as assigned) customer communication to ensure on-time delivery, disciplined execution, and predictable program performance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the employee of this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and activities required of this position.
  • Own overall program plans from kickoff through delivery, including scope, milestones, due dates, and deliverables.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding status updates, recovery plans, open issues, change impacts, etc., ensuring messages are accurate and aligned internally.
  • Maintain integrated schedules that align Engineering, Metallurgy/Met Lab, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, and Sales activities.
  • Drive weekly (or more frequent) program cadence: action item tracking, milestone reviews, and schedule recovery plans.
  • Establish clear "definition of done" for program phases and deliverables; ensure documentation and approvals are completed on time.
  • Maintain program delivery status, risks/issues, and action logs and communicate status to leadership.
  • Proactively identify constraints, risks, and bottlenecks (technical, capacity, tooling, material, supplier, quality, or process).
  • Actively push work through the shop by coordinating with production leadership, planners, and support functions to resolve bottlenecks and delays.
  • Lead structured problem-solving to resolve issues quickly, including escalation, containment, corrective actions, and recovery schedules.
  • Track and communicate schedule adherence, expedite status, and delivery risks to leadership and customers as appropriate.
  • Coordinate cross-functional tradeoffs to protect customer delivery commitments while maintaining safety, quality, and cost discipline.
  • Facilitate rapid decision-making by bringing the right stakeholders together with facts, options, and recommendations.
  • Serve as the primary internal integrator across departments to ensure handoffs are clear and work progresses without delays.
  • Coordinate engineering and metallurgical deliverables (drawings, routings, work instructions, process approvals, testing/inspection needs, etc.) to support production readiness.
  • Align supply chain activities to program needs: material availability, supplier lead times, subcontract operations, and expediting plans.
  • Partner with Production to support feasible schedules, capacity planning inputs, and clear priorities at the work center level.
  • Partner with Sales/Customer Service to ensure customer requirements, releases, and changes are reflected in execution plans.
  • Oversee execution of key customer programs to ensure commitments are met, issues are surfaced early, and delivery performance is protected.
  • Anticipate customer impacts from delays or changes and coordinate mitigation strategies to minimize disruption (e.g., partial shipments, resequencing, alternate sourcing pathways where permitted).
  • Contribute to achieving revenue and on-time delivery expectations through disciplined program execution and proactive delay mitigation.
  • Own program-level change tracking and internal coordination for customer changes (specs, prints, quantities, dates, packaging, etc.).
  • Ensure changes are evaluated cross-functionally for impact to cost, lead time, process, quality, and delivery before commitment.
  • Coordinate internal documentation updates (routers, work instructions, inspection plans, control plans as applicable) and ensure timing aligns with production.
  • Support Sales in the discovery, development, and pursuit of new business opportunities by providing technical, scheduling, and execution insights during customer engagements and proposal development.
  • Participate in customer meetings, facility visits, and technical discussions to strengthen customer relationships, build confidence in Weldaloy's execution capabilities, and support win strategies.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to assess new program feasibility, risks, lead times, and capacity impacts during quoting and pre-award phases.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
