Clinical Program Manager (Registered Nurse)
Salary Range: $37.45-$65.97/hr based on experience and qualifications

About the Role
We're looking for a dedicated Clinical Program Manager to join our team and help us continue delivering the level of care our patients and families deserve. In this role, this position provides the clinical and administrative leadership to the practice. The Clinical Program Manager works closely with the Director of Nursing and members of the practice care team to manage all aspects of the clinic. Coordinates services as a leader of an interdisciplinary team of caregivers and administrative professionals. Operational responsibilities include the oversight of patient scheduling, coordination with surgical services, comprehensive patient education, staff education, clinical care and quality outcome management, billing and coding functions inclusive of all organizational revenue cycle initiatives.
What You'll Do
Community Education: Develops programs to inform the community about practice-based care and support programs. Ensures that education programs are progressive and evidenced based.
Fiscal Management: Maintains up to date knowledge of reimbursement and revenue cycle as it relates to payment for procedures and care within the office. Interfaces with insurers to establish rates and reimbursement as needed in conjunction with organizational experts. Collaborates with fiscal department to track and monitor revenue. Participates in the establishment of an annual budget for the program. Reviews monthly financial reports and researches variances and takes corrective action as appropriate.
Quality Improvement: Works with Directors and physician stakeholders to develop, implement, monitor, communicate and ensure an effective continuous quality improvement program which incorporates technical and professional aspects of all services provided. Tracks and monitors performance against established benchmarks.Assists with the investigation of risk management and safety issues and communicates to the Director about any incidents occurring in the department. Resolves identified problems with staff, patients, visitors, physicians and other hospital departments using the CQI process.
Patient Education: Creates patient education materials and provides direct patient education as required. Ensures staff is up to date on appropriate patient education approaches and ensures that materials reflect evidence-based practices. Updates materials as needed to reflect new information.
Policies and Procedures: Responsible for implementing and maintaining nursing policies and procedures for the practice. Participates in quality improvement activities, developing policies, procedures, and/or guidelines to improve patient care and assists with data collection and monitoring.
Human Resource Management: Provides leadership to staff in providing appropriate care to the patient population. Develops competency programs to build staff skills and ensure clinical competency of staff. Provides ongoing feedback and development to all staff. Participates in staff selection and evaluation as it relates to the provision of care to the pertinent patient population.
Department Planning and Operations: Participates in the development of department goals. Monitors progress towards goals and provides Directors with regular updates. Ensures resources are available to meet patient volume. Ensures department policies are current and reflect up to date and evidence based clinical practice. Maintains current knowledge of trends and incorporates updated standards and practice into departmental operations in collaboration with physicians and other departments.
Service Excellence/Patient Satisfaction: In collaboration with Director, develops an environment of service excellence and high standards of clinical care, and develops goals and objectives for the Departments as well as measurement standards to meet these goals. Ensures timely delivery of high-quality patient care at a reasonable cost. Uses Patient Satisfaction survey indicators to improve processes and customer service skills of staff. Engages staff in participation on performance improvement, research, quality initiatives, customer satisfaction and shared governance. Establishes annual goals for improvement. As requested, organizes and directs programs and projects. Develops and maintains quality improvement plans and customer satisfaction programs.
What You Bring
  • BS Degree required; MS Degree preferred.
  • Preference will be given to NYS licensed healthcare professionals.
  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership position in a clinical outpatient setting.
  • Computer and Internet experience required. EPIC experience preferred. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products required (Word and Excel), PowerPoint and Access proficiency preferred. Database data entry and/or management experience preferred. Basic statistical knowledge preferred.
  • Quality improvement or patient safety knowledge and experience preferred.
