Program Development Coordinator

Family Support Center of Ogden

Position Summary

The Program Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting the growth, quality, sustainability, and expansion of programs and services that strengthen families and prevent child abuse. This position works collaboratively with program staff, community partners, interns, volunteers, and leadership to develop new initiatives, evaluate existing programs, identify community needs, coordinate special projects, and support strategic planning efforts.

The Program Development Coordinator also leads the development, implementation, and oversight of the organization's volunteer and internship program, creating meaningful service opportunities that increase organizational capacity while supporting community engagement and workforce development.

The Program Development Coordinator ensures programs align with the organization's mission, goals, funding requirements, best practices, and strategic priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Program Development & Planning

  • Research community needs, trends, and best practices to identify opportunities for program growth and improvement.
  • Works closely with the Programs Director and Executive Director in the development, implementation, and evaluation of new programs and services.
  • Coordinate program planning activities, timelines, and implementation strategies.
  • Develop program materials, policies, procedures, and participant resources.
  • Support strategic planning initiatives and organizational goal tracking.
  • Develop and implement innovative programs that address emerging family and community needs.
  • Assist with implementation of the organization's mortgage payoff and sustainability initiatives through volunteer engagement and community outreach efforts.

Community Collaboration & Outreach

  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, healthcare providers, referral partners, and higher education institutions.
  • Represent the organization at community meetings, coalitions, and events.
  • Coordinate outreach efforts that increase awareness and utilization of services.
  • Identify partnership opportunities that strengthen program impact.
  • Promote volunteerism, internships, and community engagement opportunities throughout Northern Utah.

Volunteer & Internship Program Management

  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive volunteer program that supports organizational and programmatic needs.
  • Recruit, train, onboard, supervise, and recognize volunteers and interns.
  • Establish partnerships with colleges, universities, technical schools, and community organizations to expand internship opportunities.
  • Coordinate volunteer and intern placements within programs, special events, fundraising initiatives, and administrative functions.
  • Maintain volunteer and intern records, background checks, service hours, evaluations, and recognition activities.
  • Develop training materials, orientation programs, and service-learning opportunities.
  • Track volunteer and internship outcomes and report impact to leadership and funders.
  • Create annual goals for volunteer recruitment, retention, engagement, and satisfaction.
  • Coordinate volunteer involvement in special events, fundraising campaigns, Parent CafĂ©s, resource center activities, youth programming, and community outreach initiatives.

Program Evaluation & Data Management

  • Collect, track, and analyze program outcomes and performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate program records and reporting systems.
  • Prepare reports for leadership, funders, community partners, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on data and participant feedback.
  • Support compliance with grant requirements and program standards.
  • Track volunteer and intern engagement metrics, service hours, and program contributions.

Grant & Funding Support

  • Assist with grant research and program-related funding opportunities.
  • Collaborate with leadership on grant applications, program narratives, and budgets.
  • Track grant deliverables and reporting deadlines.
  • Gather program data and success stories for funding proposals and reports.
  • Identify funding opportunities that support volunteer engagement, workforce development, and program expansion.
  • Work with members in the community to collaborate in funding Center initiatives.

Special Projects & Innovation

  • Lead or support special projects that advance organizational priorities.
  • Coordinate pilot programs and new service initiatives.
  • Research evidence-based and promising practices in family support and child abuse prevention.
  • Assist with accreditation, quality improvement, and organizational development efforts.
  • Utilize volunteers and interns to support strategic initiatives, community projects, fundraising campaigns, and program growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Education, Community Health, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in program development, volunteer management, nonprofit management, community services, grant management, or related field preferred.
  • Experience supervising volunteers, interns, or project teams preferred.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Monday.com, and database management systems.
  • Knowledge of family strengthening, child abuse prevention, trauma-informed care, and the Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework preferred.
