Job description

This position is with our company Nuance Systems, where our people are our success. Welder - NSI
Exentec is looking for capable stainless TIG welders that want to work in a clean, usually quiet shop. We work 4-day work weeks. The welding usually consists of welding of 316 stainless tubes that range from ¼" to 10" in diameter, manually and with the aid of welding positioners. We also have several weld lathes (orbital) that help with larger jobs.
  • Must have previous experience TIG welding stainless steel (preferably in tech, sanitary, wine)
  • Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
  • Ability to measure and fit parts to tolerances of less than 0.010" with height gauges, calipers and related equipment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ensure work is done safely and meets internal and customer quality standards.
  • Effective communication, both verbal and written
  • Precision welding of stainless steel and must have good control of heat
  • Manual dexterity is required
  • Knowledge of back-purging with argon
  • Create and set up welding fixturing for serial production run
  • Able to work overtime as needed
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision

Education:
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Experience (preferred):
  • TIG Welding: 1 year
  • College welding courses
  • Trade school for welding

The work environment characteristics include periodic noise increases when in the Manufacturing facility, although the office environment is usually quiet and respectful. Safety glasses and other required safety protection should be worn when out in the manufacturing facility, which may vary depending on the area you are working/visiting.
