Public Health Program Associate 2

As a Public Health Program Associate 2 with the Department of Health, you will play an important part in helping families access critical health services. This position provides steady and engaging work that blends organization, communication, and program monitoring. Your efforts will help improve the efficiency and quality of the Chronic Renal Disease Program. Become part of a group that is committed to supporting health and well-being across the state.

This position supports the Chronic Renal Disease Program by assisting with procurement tasks, program administration, and coordination with providers and cardholders. It requires careful record keeping, communication, and review of program activities. As a Public Health Program Associate 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Grant Oversight: Manage transportation grant agreements, review invoices, track applications, and assist providers with program processes
  • Program Support: Monitor eligibility, review invoices, maintain records, and help evaluate program procedures for improvement
  • Customer Assistance: Respond to cardholder and provider inquiries by using available systems and making informed decisions
  • Committee Coordination: Schedule meetings, prepare materials, and support nomination processes for advisory committee members
  • Record Management: Develop tracking systems, prepare official letters and reports, and support planning activities
  • Compliance Duties: Maintain confidentiality, stay informed on chronic renal disease issues, and assist with emergency response tasks

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Public Health Program Associate 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • A bachelor's degree and one year of professional experience in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
