Job description

Responsibilities: 

Provides consultation, service delivery, supervision, in-service training, pre-service training, on-the-job training and related support services to the staff of the Qualified Residential Treatment Programs and Independent Living Programs.   

Makes regular observations for use in identifying staff strengths and trainings needs, followed by written conceptual feedback.   

Assists direct care staff with youth intake, implementing individual treatment plans and program development.  

Writes all reports as required by policy, procedure, licensing and contractual responsibilities.  

Provides a direct conduit to the program administrative office for youth needs and concerns. 

Assists Director of QRTPs with the development, production and presentation of pre-service/in-service workshop training on an as needed basis. 

Assists with production and delivery of Teaching-Parent/Behavioral Instructor professional evaluation and other data collection and quality control programs on an as needed basis. Has primary involvement in the annual performance evaluations of the staff of youth homes under his/her supervision. 

Assists with evaluation and recommending youth admissions into the Qualified Residential Treatment Programs and Independent Living Programs. 

Assists with the recruitment and selection of direct care staff. 

Ensures that the home is adequately staffed by working with the team members to see that shifts are effectively covered and will provide coverage for unplanned lapses in scheduling until coverage can be arranged. 

Develops a normalized home environment using the Teaching Family Model that encourages the development/building of close family relationships among the youths.  Provides a family-style environment in the homes. 

Manages money and expends funds for youth home operation. Maintains a check card and other fiscal records as directed and in accordance with sound business practice. 

Communicates e-mails, memos and other pertinent information to all staff members with regard to youth care and treatment, as well as home operations. And, is also responsible for monitoring correspondence via mail, fax or other mediums. 

Makes presentations and interprets agency programs at professional conferences and to community agencies and organizations within the geographical area of the programs under their supervision.   

Develops and administers and annual service delivery plan for youth homes and provides detailed documentation of all activities. 

Is a member and active participant in the Teaching Family Association and other relevant local and national organizations. 

Provides 24-hour emergency consultation to youth homes. 

Serves as a member of the Quality Improvement Committee and maintains appointed joint commission standards/sections as assigned by the Director of QRTPs. 

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Director of QRTPs or other applicable personnel. 

Provides other related functions as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

Proven ability as a self-motivator and the aptitude to work in a high stress, fast paced position with a minimal amount of supervision. 

Degree from an accredited University required (exception possible with Licensing Alternative Compliance). 

Certification in the Teaching-Family Model required. 

A minimum of three years’ experience working with youth is preferred. 

Remains current in Crisis Prevention Intervention Training, CPR & First Aid. 

Possess or able to obtain a valid Arkansas Driver’s License within 30 days from date of hire.  

Must be eligible to be insured to drive MFH vehicles. 

Must be willing and able to work with all patients of Methodist Family Health, regardless of gender. 

Must have good auditory, visual and olfactory ability.  

Requires the ability to sit and stand for long periods of time and intermittently walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch and reach with hands and arms.   

Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.  

Must be able to maintain effective audio, visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, communicating with others, and reading and writing, and operating office equipment and other treatment equipment.  

Must be able to use a telephone to communicate verbally and a computer to communicate through written means, to review information and enter/retrieve data, to see and read characters on a computer screen, chart or other treatment items.  

Requires the strength and stamina to perform clinical duties. 

Flu vaccination is mandatory and required for all positions (subject only to qualified exemptions).

Level One – Full Access:  Ongoing regular access to PHI of all forms while the employee is on duty and performing within the scope of his or her job as defined by the employee’s job description and Policy and Procedure.  “Such access must be for cause, consistent with job responsibilities and related to patients, claims, audits, reviews and other legitimate business purposes.” (e.g. Physicians, nurses and other clinicians)
