Job description

Location: Atlanta, GA โ€” Remote

Unit: AmeriCorps โ€” Employment Navigator (National Direct)

Reports to: VP National Service Programs

FLSA Status: Full-time, grant-funded

Position Description

The National Program Assistant is a full-time, grant-funded position responsible for supporting the operations of OWLโ€™s Employment Navigator AmeriCorps Program. The Program Assistant supports program staff and AmeriCorps members across all three regional territories and ensures proper reporting and documentation occurs. This position reports directly to the VP National Service Programs.

Responsibilities

Member Management and Support

  • Provide support to the VP National Service Programs with written and verbal communication
  • Utilize sound human resource and inclusion practices to recruit and support member positions as detailed in the approved AmeriCorps grant
  • Provide written communication to internal and external constituencies
  • Maintain all program documents and AmeriCorps member files
  • Support AmeriCorps member recruitment efforts each term
  • Assist AmeriCorps applicants with navigating and completing the application and enrollment process each term
  • Plan and coordinate AmeriCorps orientation, bi-weekly meetings, training, and special events
  • Order and distribute AmeriCorps program gear and supplies
  • Develop tools and materials to support proper program operations

Program Support

  • Promote the program and provide outreach, marketing, and recruitment support
  • Manage and update program social media platforms with AmeriCorps content weekly
  • Support background check processing, Employee Assistance Program administration, and other HR-related processes for members and staff

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience managing social media and website content
  • Excellent organizational and data entry skills
  • AmeriCorps experience: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Commitment to workforce development and economic opportunity program models
  • Commitment to equity and inclusion
  • Prior experience with AmeriCorps or another national service program (as staff or as a former member) preferred; familiarity with member service agreements, prohibited activities, and program compliance requirements is a strong plus
  • Must successfully complete a National Service Criminal History Check (NSCHC) per 45 CFR ยง2540.201-207 prior to start
