About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager and working under the supervision or direction of regulated health professionals, the Care Team Assistant provides direct, hands-on care based on the needs of the patient and program/unit. As a member of the collaborative care team, the Care Team Assistant is responsible for supporting patients' activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living. The Care Team Assistant also reinforces patient and family teaching according to established guidelines and the plan of care.

  • Continuing Care Assistant Programย 
  • Provincial Certification with Department of Health and Wellness
    • Candidates are required to submit their certification and be registered and active with the CCA Registry. How-to-Sign-Up-for-the-CCA-Registry.pdf (nsccaprod.wpenginepowered.com)ย 
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification
  • Demonstrates effective listening skills
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Where there are no applicants with provincial certification the employer may consider candidates who are eligible to write the CCA knowledge exam and obtain certification within 1 year from their date of hire.ย
