ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world's greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Programs Assistant is a flexible, on the ground support role within World Relief Upstate SC's programs, helping clients take the practical steps toward settling in and getting connected, while also providing general support to program staff. This limited term position calls for someone adaptable and dependable, comfortable moving between tasks and stepping in wherever the day's needs take them.

This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until 12/15/26 and contingent upon funding extension.

This is a hybrid position: 4 days in office, 1 work from home.ย 
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Client Services ย 
  • Coordinate logistics between clients, community partners, and World Relief staff.
  • Ensure client services are provided within appropriate and compliant timeframes for assigned cases, including:
  • ย Support client orientations as needed.
  • Support comprehensive intakes and assessments with each client.
  • Provide transportation when necessary, including airport pickups and support with housing moves.
  • Ensure direct client services are conducted in a timely manner.
  • Provide mediation and coordination between clients and outside entities, including healthcare providers, property managers, volunteers, service providers, school districts, and school facilities.
  • Help walk-in clients navigate the internal referral process to Upstate SC programs
  • . Provide on-call support for clients, working one week at a time on a rotating schedule with other Upstate SC program staff. ย  ย 
  • Administrative and Collaborative Responsibilities ย 
  • Maintain and monitor program activities, case files, and the client database to ensure compliance.
  • Actively participate in office meetings, staff development opportunities, program trainings, community activities, and organizational events.
  • Support other positions within the Upstate SC programs on an as-needed basis with direct client services.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Mature and personal Christian faith

  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document
  • Valid drivers license, access to reliable vehicle and ability to pass MVR standardsย 
  • Highly self-motivated with strong follow-through and problem-solving skills.ย 
  • ย willingness to drive a 15-passenger van.
  • Ability to work remotely with internet access as needed.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends, and to participate in on-call rotations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • College degree and background in social services or case management preferred.
  • ย Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications preferred
  • . Bilingual in English and a second language relevant to the client base preferred (Ukrainian, Swahili, Arabic, Urdu, Russian, Spanish, etc.).
  • Cross-cultural experience desired.
