Position Title:  Graduate Assistant Coach, Women’s Ice Hockey
Reporting To:  Head Women’s Ice Hockey Coach and Athletic Director

  • Hours per week: 20/25 hours a week 
  • Stipend/Benefits: Tuition waived up to 24 credits & a $1000 stipend for the academic year

Role Summary
The Graduate Assistant for the Women's Ice Hockey program works under the direction of the head coach and assists with the administration of a successful Division III athletic program. Responsibilities include coaching, recruiting, instructing, advising, counseling, and administrative duties.

Housing, Work Hours & Duties
Athletics GA positions may include the option for on-campus housing as part of the tuition compensation package.

  • GAs who chooses to live on campus are required to work up to 25 hours per week, reflecting additional responsibilities related to both Athletics and Residence Life.

GAs who does not choose the housing option are required to work up to 20 hours per week, focusing primarily on Athletics-related responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of the head coach for the Women's ice hockey program.
  • Assist with the administration of a successful Division III athletic program, including but not limited to: coaching, recruiting, instructing, advising, film breakdown, counseling, and other duties.
  • Serve as a positive role model for all student-athletes and represent Albertus Magnus College in a professional, responsible, and positive manner.
  • Follow all NCAA, UCHC, and Athletics Department guidelines.
  • Foster a culture of compliance with NCAA rules and regulations, and assist with the promotion of an environment of institutional control over intercollegiate athletics at Albertus Magnus College. 
  •  Administrative duties as assigned by the head coach.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • Enrollment: Must be currently accepted in a Master program at Albertus Magnus College in one of the following areas:
    1. Accounting (only two spots available) 
    2. Business Administration
    3. Criminal Justice
    4. Management and Organizational Leadership
    5. Healthcare Administration (only two spots available)
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in [Microsoft Office/Google Workspace].
  • Previous experience at the collegiate, club, and/or scholastic levels as a student-athlete and/or coach.
  • Knowledge of collegiate rules and a demonstrated compliance with said rules.   
  • Relevant work experience may be substituted to meet qualifications for the position.

  • Develop advanced organizational and time-management skills by balancing academic and professional responsibilities
  • Strengthened research design, data collection, and analysis skills
