About the Employer
About Us: The Ripon Unified School District is committed to excellence and a quality education for all students. Our District is committed to lower class sizes at all grade levels and has a coordinated and articulated program from kindergarten through high school. There is a high level of parent and community involvement in the schools. A high level of support for the educational program is evident in the level of community-based financial support as well as donations of time and effort.
Our Schools: Ripon Unified is made up of five elementary schools , one high school and one continuation high school. Approximately 2,288 elementary students are divided between the five elementary schools in grades TK through 8. Combined, the two high schools have approximately 1,067 students in grades 9 through 12.
Our Staff: Certificated Staff includes 150+ teachers and itinerants serving regular classroom instruction and special services. Support Staff includes 200+ employees, including aides, bilingual liaisons , secretaries, custodians, yard duties, and more. Our leadership team consists of 18 administrators. Together, we a have a strong sense of community and common goal of supporting our students.
Job Summary
Under general direction and supervision of Afterschool Program Site Lead and Afterschool Program Supervisor, the Afterschool Program Assistant I supervises students in designated school areas and on school grounds as directed. He/she will tutor individual or small groups of students reinforcing instruction and supporting students in homework completion; observe and manage behavior of students during educational and recreational activities; co-create and collaborate to contribute to an after school environment that promotes students' academic, social and emotional growth and well-being; assist in the preparation of instructional materials and
implementation of lesson plans as directed.
Assistant II must have 48 college semester units, or pass a Paraeducator exam.
