Job description

Mayday Manufacturing is a leading Aerospace machining and metal finishing company in Denton, Texas that provides a dynamic work environment with cutting-edge technology. Our company supports the growth and future of the Aerospace industry and is looking to add a 2nd shift assistants, to join our team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Learning practical painting processes and procedures
  • Read and understand traveler instructions and special notes
  • Part prepping, including cleaning and racking of parts
  • Identify racking or boarding method per part configuration; this will include various sizes, lengths, shapes, and weights
  • Learn to board parts appropriately so parts do not move while being painted
  • Flip parts that have been boarded for painters
  • Reactivate primer by scuffing/sanding method
  • Identify applicable grade of sanding paper and or scotch bright for parts
  • Mask parts as required
  • Count and record number of pieces being racked or boarded
  • Become familiar with how to operate ovens
  • Fill out paperwork correctly for work done
  • General housekeeping, including changing oven filters & organizing paint stock room
  • Adheres to company policies, quality procedures and safety standards
  • Gain basic knowledge and use of inspection tools (i.e., micrometers, dual scope)
  • To meet the needs of our customers and colleagues, you are expected to be at your desk/station and ready to work at your designated start time

Required Education and Experience:
  • None

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Additional eligibility qualifications:
  • Must have an acceptable criminal history background check
  • Must pass a drug test

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
Full time
  • 2nd Shift - 3:00PM- 11:00pm (Monday thru Friday)
  • Some overtime may be required
  • May be asked to work weekends with little or no notice
