IEUA is seeking a proactive, detail oriented, and dependable professional to join the Board and Administrative Services Department. This key position provides essential support to the department’s day-to-day operations and requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and confidential environment. The ideal candidate is accurate, efficient, customer service oriented, and takes pride in helping a team operate smoothly and effectively. EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

An Administrative Assistant I performs journey-level, administrative support functions requiring the understanding and application of Agency, departmental, and policies and procedures to provide office administrative support services that may require specialized knowledge in the area of assignment.

Employees in this class typically report to one or multiple managers, supervisors or professionals.

Administrative Assistant I is distinguished from Administrative Assistant II in that an incumbent in the latter class independently performs duties requiring more extensive knowledge of Agency processes to administer small administrative programs such as budget development and performance review tracking and to develop reports, processes and procedures.

An Administrative Assistant II performs journey-level to advanced-level duties in the clerical and administrative support class series. In addition to performing the full journey-level skilled duties, incumbents perform a variety of sensitive support functions. Assigned work requires the use of initiative and judgment in selecting appropriate work methods, understanding and applying detailed information and procedures and meeting high standards of accuracy in handling routine and non-routine data and managing small division-specific programs. Incumbents may also coordinate and oversee the work of lower-level staff.

  • Organize, set priorities and exercise sound independent judgment within areas of responsibility.
  • Compose clear, concise and comprehensive analyses, correspondence, reports, studies, agreements, presentations and other written materials from brief instructions.

The Inland Empire Utilities Agency is a regional wastewater treatment agency and wholesale distributor of imported water to approximately 950,000 people across 242-square miles in western San Bernardino County. Under the leadership of a directly elected five-member Board of Directors, the Agency is committed to supporting the needs of its service area and safeguarding public health through significant investments in a diverse water supply portfolio, reliable municipal/industrial wastewater collection and treatment services, and other related utility services in a regionally planned and cost-effective manner.

As a member agency of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Metropolitan), IEUA provides supplemental water supplies, primarily via the State Water Project (SWP) for distribution among nine retail agencies. IEUA also replenishes local groundwater supplies with captured stormwater and recycled water produced by IEUA that is later extracted by local water agencies for use as a drinking water supply.
