School Aide / Instructional Aide Opportunities – Covina & Surrounding Areas

Amergis is currently seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated School Aides/Instructional Aides to support students in Fontana and surrounding communities. Position Overview

The School Aide works with students requiring instructional and/or behavioral support under the supervision of the Special Education Department, classroom teacher, and/or designated school staff. School Aides may also assist students with personal care, physical mobility, and therapeutic support needs as directed by educational and healthcare professionals.

Position Details
  • Location: Covina
  • Start Date: August 10, 2026
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday
  • Hours: Approximately 35 hours per week
  • School-Year Assignment
  • Pay Rate: $18–$21 per hour
  • Weekly Pay
  • No Weekends
What You'll Do

As an Instructional Aide, you will help create a positive and supportive learning environment for students while assisting teachers in daily classroom activities.

Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers with classroom instruction, activities, and classroom management
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students
  • Follow IEP goals and objectives, including academic and behavioral support plans
  • Reinforce positive behavior strategies and maintain a safe learning environment
  • Support instructional activities, accommodations, and learning materials
  • Facilitate learning activities, worksheets, reinforcement systems, and small-group projects
  • Assist with programs developed by educational specialists such as PTs, OTs, and SLPs
  • Help students develop independence through self-care and daily living skills when needed
  • Communicate relevant information to teachers and school staff
  • Collaborate with educators and support teams to meet student needs
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow teacher direction and support classroom routines
  • Reliable, patient, and committed to student success
  • Current CPR certification if applicable
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD, or Chest X-Ray if applicable
  • Current Health Certificate if applicable
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • CPI training required (orientation provided)
