Job description

ABOUT US
The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is an independent, non-profit biomedical research organization located in Torrance, California. In dozens of laboratories throughout the campus, researchers are working to unravel the mysteries of heart and kidney disease, cardiac complications in newborns, chronic lung disease, skin cancer, sickle cell disease, disorders of the autoimmune system, and much more. Many of these projects are collaborative in nature, involving experts from different areas of specialization. Our discoveries have prevented blindness in newborns, enabled premature infants with fragile lungs to breathe and allowed children with rare, often fatal diseases to grow up healthy and strong.
The Warehouse Assistant position supports the efficient operation of Lundquist WIC by performing inventory control, warehouse operations, data entry, materials preparation and distribution, asset tracking, and administrative support. The position is responsible for ensuring accurate receipt, storage, inventory, and distribution of program supplies, equipment, educational materials, infant formula, and other assets utilized throughout Lundquist WIC locations. Must have a valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record, current personal automobile insurance, and reliable personal transportation with current California registration to travel to WIC sites and the Administrative Office for meetings and program needs. Must have working knowledge of inventory management systems, digital databases, spreadsheets, and other computerized tracking systems.

  • Accurately enter and maintain inventory, receipt, transfer, and distribution records using Lundquist WIC databases, spreadsheets, and other digital systems.
  • Maintain complete and accurate inventory records; identify, research, and report inventory discrepancies.
  • Assist with routine physical inventory counts, inventory reconciliation, and asset management activities.
  • Tag and track equipment, furniture, computers, office equipment, and other organizational assets.
  • Generate routine inventory, distribution, statistical, and operational reports.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations and compile inventory data to support operational reporting and reconciliation.
  • Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety standards.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and delivering supplies and equipment as needed.
