About this Position

The Department of English at Oklahoma State University seeks applications for multiple openings for Visiting Instructors / Visiting Assistant Professors with a start date of August 2026. Research and teaching interests should include composition and writing studies and related areas of humanistic inquiry. This appointment may be renewable for up to three years, contingent upon satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

Responsibilities:

The successful hires will teach a 3-3 course load, supporting both the First-Year Composition program and the Cowboy Concurrent initiative. In the First-Year Composition program, the successful hire will develop themed sections for in person and online delivery of writing courses for learning communities organized by major and subject affinity (such as science and technology or global politics). Cowboy Concurrent courses enroll high-school juniors and seniors who wish to earn college credit. These courses are offered both in-person and online. ย
