Job description

Senior Faculty Position in Chemistry (Open Area)

The Department of Chemistry at Stanford University seeks applicants for a senior appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The search is open to applicants in all areas of experimental and theoretical chemistry. Applicants must have demonstrated a commitment to effective teaching and mentoring and the ability to maintain a world-class research program. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field and will be expected to teach and advise students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The term of appointment is expected to begin on September 1, 2027.

  • curriculum vitae (including a publication list)

  • a summary of their research program (no more than three single-spaced pages)

  • a teaching statement (no more than 1 single-spaced page) 

The salary range for this position is $159,907-$178,030 for the rank of Associate Professor and $188,500-$341,136 for the rank of Full Professor for the academic year 2026-2027.
