Job description

Christian Life School is seeking caring, flexible, and dependable Substitute Teachers to serve students in either our Elementary (K-6th grade) or Middle/High School (7th - 12th grade) on an as-needed basis. Once hired, Substitutes are able to choose which grade levels and subject areas they prefer to cover. Substitute teachers play an important role in providing a safe, engaging, and Christ-centered learning environment while maintaining continuity in the classroom during a teacher's absence.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Follow lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher.
  • Maintain a positive, orderly, and respectful classroom environment.
  • Supervise students throughout the school day, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
  • Communicate professionally with school staff and administration.
  • Adapt to different grade levels, subject areas, and classroom settings as needed.
  • Uphold the mission, values, and policies of Christian Life School.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or an associate's degree with a valid Wisconsin DPI ThreeYear ShortTerm Substitute License required.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and learning needs.
  • Flexibility to accept assignments on short notice when available.
