Job description

Job Overview:
This role is responsible for the execution of specialized tasks that support the functional operations of the Pro Services group. As a member of the Pro Services Operations team, the Specialist is responsible for leading the execution of administrative processes and procedures of the business including processing vendor invoices, billing customers, managing data, communicating with retailers and the vendor community, creating reports, contract retention, and financial responsibilities. This role will provide cross-functional support for all Pro Services departments, partner with other areas of the company, and work closely with assigned vendors.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintains and collects data/information for department use in internal/external systems including UNFI financial systems, SharePoint Microsoft Office, and Salesforce.
  • Maintains unit documents such as ledgers, financial records, service information, etc.
  • Prepares and balances data and basic financial information.
  • Reviews and/or compares information/data and makes determinations within defined guidelines, parameters, and instruction.
  • Maintains complex records and files, searches and investigates information found in files.
  • Compiles information and data from various sources for specific departmental reports, and creates reports, graphs, and data comparisons.
  • Posts records and processes departmental documents requiring specific knowledge of the functional area.
  • Researches and interprets a variety of levels of information.
  • Strives for information accuracy.
  • Works without direct supervision, potentially self-guided for a week or more without additional instruction.
  • Coordinates and implements approved changes in policies and procedures affecting unit.
  • Acts as a resource to staff in workgroup.
  • Responsibility for reports or presentations requiring demonstration and application of business accounting principles.
  • Responds to inquiries in the area of responsibility - administrative/billing, accounts payable, and customer inquiries.
  • Responds to inquiries that require specialized knowledge of the function to respond.
  • May be engaged via email or phone for support or information, role will require resolution or information to be routed to appropriate responder.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: Education/ Certifications/Experience:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a Business-related discipline.
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience with general administrative work.

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities
  • Functional understanding, demonstration, and application of business accounting principles.
  • Ability to be self-driven to enhance/update existing skills as well as new company tools and initiatives.
  • Ability to create and maintain documentation for business reporting, meetings, and initiatives.
  • Executive-facing written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office products as well as internal tools.
  • Responsibility for reports or presentations requiring demonstration and application of business accounting principles.

Work Environment:
Remote Role: This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.
Physical Environment/Demands: Office Roles:
  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.
