Description Operations Manager – Plumbing & Drain Services Eagan, MN | Full-Time | $95,000-$125,000 + Performance Bonus About Us

Ron the Sewer Rat is one of the Twin Cities' most established plumbing and drain cleaning companies. With a reputation built over decades, we're entering our next phase of growth.

We're building the systems, leadership team, and operational structure that will take our company to the next level-and we're looking for an experienced home service leader who wants to help build it.

Before You Apply

This position is designed for experienced leaders in the residential home service industry.

Our strongest candidates have leadership experience in one or more of the following industries:

  • Plumbing
  • Drain Cleaning
  • HVAC
  • Electrical
  • Restoration
  • Other residential field-service businesses

Experience leading field technicians, dispatch operations, service departments, or production teams is strongly preferred.

If your experience is primarily in retail, manufacturing, hospitality, or other non-field-service industries, this position is unlikely to be the right fit.

The Opportunity

This is not a maintenance role.

This is a build-and-lead opportunity.

We're looking for someone who wants to help build the operational systems, leadership team, and accountability structure that will support the next decade of growth.

You'll work directly with our General Manager and leadership team to improve operations, develop future leaders, create scalable systems, and build an organization that people want to be part of.

This is an opportunity to influence how a growing company operates -not simply inherit someone else's systems.

Why Experienced Home Service Leaders Join Us

If you're currently leading technicians but feel like you've hit a ceiling, this role was designed for someone like you.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Help build—not just manage—a growing operation.
  • Partner directly with an experienced General Manager.
  • Develop future leaders and strengthen company culture.
  • Create systems that improve technician success and customer experience.
  • Expand your responsibilities as the company grows.
  • Grow into broader operational leadership over time.
What You'll Do Operational Leadership
  • Lead day-to-day plumbing and drain service operations.
  • Ensure technicians have the support, resources, and accountability needed to succeed.
  • Lead daily operational huddles and communication.
Leadership & Coaching
  • Coach, mentor, and develop technicians and future leaders.
  • Hold team members accountable while earning their trust and respect.
  • Build a culture focused on ownership, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Systems & Process Improvement
  • Improve operational systems and workflows.
  • Build processes that increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Help develop leadership scorecards and operational rhythms.
  • Partner with Dispatch and Customer Service to improve scheduling and technician utilization .
  • Resolve customer and operational issues professionally.
  • Support onboarding and training initiatives.
  • Identify recurring problems and implement lasting solutions.
  • Help prepare the organization for future growth.

As our organization grows and additional leadership positions are added, you'll assume broader operational responsibilities across multiple departments.

Requirements Who Thrives Here

You may be a great fit if you:

Naturally build systems instead of working around broken ones.

Enjoy coaching people and developing future leaders.

Hold people accountable while earning their respect.

Look for root causes instead of quick fixes.

Prefer solving problems over complaining about them.

Enjoy growth, change, and building something better.

Want to leave an organization stronger than you found it.

What You Bring Required
  • Leadership experience in plumbing, drain cleaning, HVAC, electrical, restoration, or another residential home service business.
  • Experience leading field technicians, service operations, or production teams.
  • Proven ability to improve operational performance.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills .
  • High level of organization and follow-through.
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
Preferred
  • Experience building systems and improving operational processes.

No plumbing license is required.

Your Growth Path

This role is intentionally designed for long-term growth.

You'll begin by helping lead our plumbing and drain operations while partnering with the General Manager to improve systems, coach leaders, and strengthen execution.

As the company grows and additional service managers are added beneath you, you'll take on broader operational leadership responsibilities and increased ownership across the organization.

If you're looking for a position where you can simply maintain the status quo, this probably isn't the right opportunity.

If you're looking for a chance to help build the future of a growing company while growing your own leadership career, we'd love to talk.

Summary

Base Salary: $95,000-$125,000 annually, depending on experience.

Performance Bonus: Bonus opportunities tied to operational performance and leadership milestones.
