Professional Service information

What are professional services?

Professional services refer to specialized services provided by individuals or firms with expertise in particular fields, such as law, accounting, consulting, engineering, or IT. These services typically require advanced training, certification, or professional licenses. Companies and individuals hire professional service providers to help with complex tasks, problem-solving, or strategic advice that goes beyond general business operations. Examples include legal advice, tax planning, management consulting, and software implementation. The goal is to deliver value through expert knowledge and tailored solutions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in professional service?

To thrive in Professional Services, you need strong analytical abilities, industry-specific knowledge, and typically a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. Familiarity with project management tools, CRM systems, and, in some cases, certifications such as PMP or Six Sigma are beneficial. Exceptional interpersonal skills, adaptability, and effective communication set top performers apart in client-facing roles. These skills are crucial for delivering value to clients, managing complex projects, and maintaining high standards of service in a competitive environment.

How do professionals in service roles typically collaborate with other departments to deliver client solutions?

Professionals in service roles often work closely with departments such as sales, product development, and customer support to ensure the best outcomes for clients. Regular cross-functional meetings and project updates help align everyone on client goals and service delivery expectations. Effective communication and a collaborative mindset are key, as service professionals often act as the bridge between clients and internal teams, translating client needs into actionable tasks. This collaborative approach not only improves client satisfaction but also helps professionals build a broad network within the organization.

Consultants focus on advising and problem-solving, often on a project basis. Both roles require expertise and industry knowledge, but Professional Services tend to involve more formalized processes and certifications.

What jobs are considered professional services?

Professional services jobs include roles such as accountants, lawyers, consultants, engineers, architects, and healthcare providers. These positions typically require specialized education, certifications, or licenses and involve providing expert advice or specialized skills to clients. They often work in office environments and may require ongoing professional development.

Job description

Midtown is seeking a Tennis Professional, who is passionate about helping members and will foster their love of racquet sports.

Why join the Midtown Team:

Our Culture:

  • We exist to inspire people to transform their lives. How we achieve this is by offering resort-like environments, creating active communities, and by providing personal attention.

  • We believe in treating our members and teammates as individuals and making every interaction memorable. We believe that by working together, we increase the opportunities to win together.

  • We foster an environment where we share success and provide individual growth opportunities. We value kindness and we care about each other.

  • We encourage open and honest debate among team members. Team commitment, accountability and buy-in are requirements.

Benefits best in class:

  • We provide industry leading benefits (health, 401k savings, and vacation, to name only a few), and resources so that team members can deliver on our purpose - to inspire people to transform their lives.

  • Midtown strives to hire individuals committed to full-time employment, although we do hire part-time and seasonal coaches. Coaches who attain an average of 28 hours per week or more of on- and off-court duties qualify for full-time benefits.

  • Midtown offers more training and development options than any other private commercial club company, including a professional development account to provide financial support for relevant education and training. Midtown coaches have opportunities to grow, develop and build a career.

Competitive Compensation:

Depending on credentials and experience, full-time Midtown professionals earn, including the value of the full-time benefits package, and considering 30 hours of instruction per week, between $65k and $85k, annually.

Apply today if you:

Have relevant coaching experience, including group and private lessons for adults and youth.

Are Safe Play certified or willing to become Safe Play certified prior to hiring.

Possess one nationally recognized racquet sports certification or be willing to become certified within 3 months of hire.
