Job Title

Spanish Pedagogy: Spanish Teaching BA Program Coordinator, FT CFS Professional

Position Summary

Full‑time professional‑track position in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Brigham Young University to coordinate and teach in the Spanish Teaching BA Program.

Responsibilities
  • Teach in the Spanish Teaching BA program (35%)
  • Perform administrative duties (45%) including student recruitment, student‑mentoring program coordination, and accreditation curriculum development
  • Mentor student teachers: placement, supervision, evaluation, mentor‑teacher training, professional learning, and support; travel to visit schools for clinical observations
  • Community outreach
  • Citizenship: participate in committee assignments and work collegially with department faculty, staff, adjunct faculty, student teachers, mentor teachers, and partner district administrators
Qualifications
  • MA required; PhD preferred in Foreign Language Education, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related emphasis
  • Experience teaching Spanish courses at the university level required
  • Teaching/administrative experience in public K‑12 schools preferred
  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English required
