COMPENSATIONSalary Range$43,029 - $67,119 (based on experience and education)Position TypeFull-Time, 10-Month ContractGrade LevelGrades 6-8School Year2026-2027RESPONSIBILITIESPlan and deliver rigorous, engaging mathematics instruction aligned to Virginia SOL standards for grades 6-8Teach courses which may include Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and/or Math 6, 7, or 8 depending on assignmentUse data from assessments and SOL results to differentiate instruction and support all learnersCreate a structured, positive classroom environment that promotes mathematical thinking and problem-solvingCommunicate proactively with parents, guardians, and support staff regarding student progressCollaborate with grade-level teams and participate in Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetingsProvide tutoring, intervention support, or enrichment as neededMaintain accurate and timely records of student grades, attendance, and progressPerform other duties as assigned by school administrationQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related fieldValid Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Mathematics (Middle School or Secondary), or eligibility to obtain licensureKnowledge of Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) for middle school mathematicsAbility to effectively teach and differentiate instruction for diverse learnersStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsExperience with data-driven instruction and formative assessment practices preferredCommitment to student growth, equity, and a positive school cultureAPPLICATION REQUIREMENTSAll applicants must submit the following materials as part of a complete application:Three (3) professional references (name, title, relationship, and contact information)Copy of current Virginia teaching license OR official college/university transcripts This position will remain open until filled.
