Job description

We are seeking a Professional Learning Specialist (PLS) to join our growing team at Transfr! The ideal candidate is an experienced facilitator, strategic thinker, and relationship-builder who is passionate about professional learning, instructional innovation, and customer success. They thrive in fast-paced environments, communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels, and are energized by helping organizations drive meaningful adoption and measurable outcomes.
As a Professional Learning Specialist, you will support design and own the delivery of high-impact professional learning experiences, customer implementation support, and educator capacity building initiatives. You will serve as both an instructional expert and implementation strategist, ensuring customers successfully integrate Transfr's solutions into instructional practice and workforce development programming.
This role is pivotal in driving customer adoption, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and supporting scalable implementation excellence across districts, workforce organizations, and state partners.
This is a full-time, remote position but requires residence within your assigned territory, as this role requires extensive travel and strong executive presence. PLS team members frequently engage with district leaders, state officials, and site-level educators with estimated travel of 50% -70% of the time.
Location: This position is 100% Remote but the designated territory for this position is New York. We will only consider candidates who reside in New York and surrounding states.
The base salary range for this position is $80,000 - 95,000.
Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, and internal equity considerations. This role may also be eligible for bonus, company variable compensation and equity program.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver impactful professional learning experiences for educators, administrators, and workforce development partners.
  • Customize training and implementation strategies to support district, CTE (career technical education), and workforce development goals.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Transfr's platform, VR systems, and curriculum resources.
  • Provide coaching, onboarding, and ongoing support to drive customer adoption and implementation success.
  • Analyze training data, usage metrics, and stakeholder feedback to measure impact and demonstrate ROI.
  • Build strong relationships with educators, site and district leaders, and state stakeholders as a trusted partner and advisor.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Programs, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to improve customer outcomes and implementation practices.
  • Represent Transfr professionally in high-visibility customer engagements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support quality assurance with testing of new features and enhancements.
  • Contribute to internal playbooks and best-practice documentation to scale implementation excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Professional Learning Specialist in an education technology (EdTech) environment
  • Willingness to travel 50-70% to support customer implementations, onboarding, events and conferences across the Northeast region.
  • Must be based in the New York Tri-State Area to effectively support regional travel and customer engagement needs.
  • Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with proven success delivering customer-facing presentations and training sessions.
  • Background in education and adult learning with hands-on experience in curriculum writing, instructional design, or professional learning development.
  • Experience partnering with educators, site leaders, district administrators, and state-level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with educational technology, including the ability to independently troubleshoot and support VR headsets, peripherals, and related hardware/software systems to ensure seamless implementation and user experience.
  • Ability to analyze professional learning effectiveness and provide actionable feedback to improve implementation outcomes and learner engagement.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Proactive and adaptable with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
