  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • One year landscaping experience in an institutional or business setting.


Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations

  • Perform routine care of lawns, gardens, trees, shrubs, and ornamental plantings
  • Mow, edge, trim, weed, fertilize, and irrigate landscaped areas
  • Maintain flower beds, seasonal plantings, and decorative features
  • Monitor plant health and identify issues such as pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies

Job Summary (Essential Functions)

The Professional Landscaper plays a key role in maintaining the beauty, safety, and prestige of our private club grounds. This position is responsible for the daily care, enhancement, and preservation of all outdoor landscapes, ensuring an exceptional environment for members and guests. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, skilled in horticulture and grounds maintenance, and committed to delivering high‑quality results.


Job Tasks/Duties

  • Previous professional landscaping or groundskeeping experience required; country club, resort, or golf environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of horticulture, plant care, and landscape maintenance techniques
  • Ability to safely operate landscaping tools and machinery
  • Understanding of irrigation systems and basic repairs
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks

Physical Requirement and Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.
