The Opportunity
The Product Owner, Tax & CAMA supports outcomes across online checkout, gateway integrations, settlement/reconciliation, refunds/voids, disputes, and accessibility readiness. This role helps maintain the backlog for Payments features, supports the definition of measurable outcomes, and works cross-functionally to deliver increments that improve payer experience and operational results.
This is an onsite position working out of our Edmonton office Monday through Friday
What You Will Do
  • Support product roadmap execution; help track KPIs and report on performance.
  • Maintain and groom the backlog; write clear stories and acceptance criteria alongside the Senior PO or Product Lead.
  • Participate in discovery and solution design sessions; help validate that increments meet requirements.
  • Support release planning, enablement, and communications.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and work closely with Engineering day-to-day.
  • Coordinate with Compliance/Security on PCI/SOC/NACHA-related items and audit prep, escalating as needed.

Requirements
What You Will Need to Succeed
  • Working knowledge of payment methods and flows: card-not-present, ACH/EFT, digital wallets.
  • Familiarity with risk & operations concepts: tokenization, AVS/CVV, 3-D Secure, fraud controls, chargebacks, settlement, reconciliation.
  • Basic understanding of compliance & security frameworks: PCI DSS, SOC 1/2, NACHA rules, EMV concepts, PII/PHI handling (willingness to build deeper expertise on the job).
  • Awareness of accessibility standards: WCAG 2.1 AA baseline.
  • Comfort with data & reporting: lifecycle telemetry, GL/ledger mapping, reconciliation reports.
  • Exposure to integration patterns: postbacks/webhooks, idempotency, retries, SFTP batch exchanges.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and basic SQL; analytics tools a plus.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 2-4 years in Product roles, with some exposure to Payments/FinTech or GovTech preferred (not required).
  • Experience supporting delivery of digital product features in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Interest in public-sector clients, accessibility requirements, and enterprise integrations; prior exposure a plus.

Preferred Certifications
  • CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) or equivalent.
  • Interest in pursuing payments certifications (e.g., ePayResources, NACHA Accredited ACH Professional).
  • Interest in accessibility training aligned to WCAG AA.
