Job description

Estate Planning Attorney

Salt Lake City, Utah | In-Office

We are seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to join our Salt Lake City office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys working directly with clients, handling sophisticated estate planning matters, and becoming an integral part of a collaborative and growing practice.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can build trusted client relationships, manage matters independently, and provide thoughtful, practical counsel tailored to each client's unique circumstances.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on a broad range of estate planning and wealth transfer matters
  • Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance health care directives, and related estate planning documents
  • Counsel clients regarding tax-efficient estate and wealth transfer strategies
  • Assist with trust administration, probate, and related matters as appropriate
  • Meet directly with clients to understand their goals and develop customized estate plans
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide responsive, high-quality legal counsel
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, and professionals as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely billing and matter records
  • Meet an annual expectation of 1,800 billable hours. We will provide enough work to meet this expectation.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active Bar membership
  • Estate planning experience, including experience drafting wills and trusts
  • Strong legal research, writing, drafting, and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and client-service skills
  • Ability to manage matters and deadlines independently while working effectively as part of a team
  • High level of professionalism, judgment, and attention to detail

Experience with sophisticated estate planning, high-net-worth clients, business succession planning, trust administration, probate, or estate and gift tax matters is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Professional dues and CLE support

Work Environment

This is an in-office position based in Salt Lake City, Utah. We value collaboration, accessibility, excellent client service, and attorneys who want to contribute meaningfully to the continued growth of the practice.

If you are an estate planning attorney looking for a long-term opportunity to build your practice, serve great clients, and work alongside a strong team, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
