What you will do
  • Lead and supervise a dedicated team of Systems Engineers to execute hardware engineering, software engineering, and network-level commissioning for Major Projects and Branch Projects.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with state, local, and federal legal requirements while upholding the highest ethical standards.
  • Develop and implement practices and processes that ensure cost-effective engineering solutions while consistently delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Act as the Area expert in application engineering and collaborate effectively with Major Projects and Branch teams to achieve project goals.
How you will do it
  • Oversee and prioritize the workload of the Systems Engineering Team, ensuring timely completion of engineering deliverables through effective management and scheduling.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate Systems Engineering team processes, strategies, and standards.
  • Provide detailed engineering cost estimates during project development phases.
  • Innovate and seek out new applications and operational techniques, implementing improvements in processes, facilities, tools, and equipment that enhance quality, reliability, and productivity.
  • Deliver advanced technical support on application or implementation issues, serving as the Area expert in application engineering.
  • Guide a team of Systems Engineers in selecting controllers and end devices that meet specifications while minimizing the total installation cost, ensuring project costs remain below estimates.
  • Utilize financial, contract management, and various management reports to assess team performance and success.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with customers, consultants, and architect engineers, leveraging these connections effectively during project development and execution phases.
  • Uphold high engineering standards, ensuring maximum reuse of proven designs and programs to promote efficiency.
  • Engage in complex engineering tasks and provide necessary support for network commissioning on assigned projects.
  • Recruit, retain, mentor, and manage the performance of direct reports while planning for their career development.
  • Prepare and deliver clear performance expectations, reviews, and development plans.
  • Collaborate closely with Major Projects and Branch teams to ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables, maximizing the successful execution of projects.
What we look forRequired
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in the Construction or Controls Industry, with a solid understanding of Controls Engineering and Building Automation Systems.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience in a technical/engineering group, with at least five years of progressive responsibility in the construction industry.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or a master’s degree or professional Engineer registration is highly desired.
  • Recognized as an expert in multiple core engineering competencies.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost management practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly in the presentation of technical materials.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $91,000 - $137,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
