Job description

Job Title: Youth Development Professional
Location: Boys & Girls Club of Milford
Reports To: Site Director
Employment Type: Part-Time 
Position Summary:

Youth Development Professionals (YDPs) at the Boys & Girls Club of Milford are responsible for creating a safe, fun, and supportive environment for members ages 5–18. YDPs help implement high-quality programs that promote academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character and leadership. This role is ideal for individuals who are energetic, compassionate, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with Youth: Build positive relationships with members and serve as a mentor and role model.
  • Program Implementation: Lead and support activities across our core program areas — Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Leadership — using prepared curricula and club resources.
  • Safety First: Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all members by following established protocols and behavior expectations.
  • Positive Environment: Create a welcoming, inclusive, and structured environment that promotes respect, teamwork, and fun.
  • Behavior Management: Use positive reinforcement and club behavior policies to guide members and address issues appropriately.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate regularly with supervisors and teammates to support youth and ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Administrative Tasks: Track daily attendance, document incidents, and assist with member check-in/check-out procedures.
  • Club Cleanliness: Help maintain cleanliness and organization of program spaces and shared areas.
Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education, social work, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with youth in a group setting is highly preferred.
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior in a group environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must pass background check and complete required training.
Work Schedule:

  • Before School Care : Monday- Friday 7:00am-9:00am Monday-Friday.
