Three Rivers Treatment Center | Kenbridge, VA

Three Rivers Treatment Center is seeking an energetic, organized, and innovative Staff Development Trainer to lead employee orientation, regulatory training, leadership development, and ongoing professional education for our multidisciplinary team serving adolescents in a residential treatment environment.

As our Staff Development Trainer, you'll play a critical role in shaping the employee experience—from their first day of orientation through continued professional development. You'll partner with leaders across the organization to build a culture of learning, accountability, and excellence while ensuring compliance with DBHDS, Joint Commission, and other regulatory standards.

What You'll Do

Design, coordinate, and facilitate engaging employee training programs.

Co -Lead New Hire Orientation and ensure employees are prepared for success.

Coordinate mandatory annual education, compliance, and safety training.

Develop and update training materials using current regulations and best practices.

Conduct training needs assessments with department leaders.

Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend continuous improvements.

Promote leadership development and career growth opportunities.

Maintain accurate training records and compliance documentation.

Prepare reports related to employee education and training compliance.

Collaborate with managers to support departmental learning objectives.

Serve as a resource for employees regarding education, onboarding, and staff development initiatives.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

Must be at least 19 years of age in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia Interdepartmental Regulations for Children's Residential Facilities.

Minimum of one year of related training, education, or staff development experience preferred.

Experience creating and presenting training materials.

Strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree or college coursework in Business, Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.

Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, residential treatment, or human services.

Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or equivalent certification preferred.

Certifications

CPR Certification within 90 days of hire.

CPR Instructor Certification within six months of hire.

Handle With Care Instructor Certification (or ability to obtain).

Work Environment

This position works primarily in a professional office setting with regular interaction throughout the facility. The role includes classroom instruction, computer-based training, and collaboration with leaders and staff across departments.
