    The Head Coach of Swimming and Diving has an exciting opportunity to lead a program with a strong history and significant potential. Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Recreation, the Head Coach provides vision and leadership for all aspects of the SCSU Swimming and Diving program, with a primary focus on developing a high-quality student-athlete experience. Consistent with the values of NCAA Division II, the head coach provides a competitive athletic experience while supporting the academic success and overall, well-being of student-athletes.
    Responsibilities also include recruiting, training, fiscal oversight, administrative duties, alumni engagement, fundraising, and community engagement activities. Working collaboratively with the Athletics and Recreation team, campus colleagues, alumni and other stakeholders, the head coach will maximize visibility for the athletics program to develop university spirit and pride.
    This position is a full-time, 10-month contractual position.
    Position Responsibilities
    Providing leadership for all aspects of Swimming and Diving.
    Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with NCAA, Northeast 10 and University regulations.
    Successful completion of NCAA certification exam.
    Identifies, evaluates and recruits academically prepared students in accordance with University policies and NCAA regulations.
    Provides academic oversight of student athletes to ensure retention and graduation.
    Arranges all aspects of scheduling, team travel, etc.
    Maintains open and harmonious communications with all facets of the campus community.
    Maintains fiscal responsibility and integrity.
    Participates in community, campus and departmental initiatives when appropriate.
    Timely submission of all requested requests/paperwork.
    Qualifications
    Earned master's degree preferred for coaches, and eight (8) years of appropriate professional level experience. Commitment in following the letter and spirit of NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations. Ability to effectively work with a diverse population of student athletes and coaches in a cultural climate that celebrates diversity. These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternate experience.
