Job description

Country Club of Colorado, located in Colorado Springs, CO, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for an Assistant Tennis Professional! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you'll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
Summary
The Assistant Tennis Professional is a year-round position, with the focus on coaching tennis and pickleball to players of all ages. You will join a team of 5 professionals and be involved in all racquet's operations, including: planning and running events and camps, upkeep and cleanliness of all facilities, and racquet re-stringing and repair.
At the Country Club of Colorado, we are building one of the strongest tennis programs in Southern Colorado. We are continually adding players to our adult and junior programs, and we encourage our team members to create new programming as we grow. We have 5 indoor and 6 outdoor tennis courts, as well as 8 outdoor pickleball courts, with the ability to tape and play indoors as well.
Pay will be based on experience. We offer an hourly rate plus a generous commissions program for all time on court, as well as for stringing racquets.
$14.42 per hour
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education & Experience:
  • High level High School/College playing experience preferred.
  • USPTA or USPTR preferred.
  • At least 2 to 3 years of coaching in the tennis/pickleball industry.
  • Experience coaching all junior and adults, in private and group setting.
  • College degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office.

Physical Requirements:
  • Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force constantly to lift,carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk during entire shift.
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.

General Requirements:
  • Always maintain a warm and friendly demeanor.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Troon Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
  • Comply with Troon Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
Fundamental Requirements:
  • Knows all aspects of all positions within the department.
  • A motivated and team-oriented individual.
  • Coaching junior classes, private lessons, camps, match play and academy.
  • Instruct adult drills, private lessons, and camps.
  • Coaching pickleball drills, private lessons, and camps.
  • Organizing and running mixers or round robins for tennis, pickleball and juniors.
  • Does weekly walkthroughs with the team to ensure Director of Tennis of all repairs that need to be achieved.
  • Helps maintain an organized office.
  • Always comply with standard and regulations to encourage safe and efficient tennis operation.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
