Summary of Position

The Production Expeditor is responsible for overseeing daily production floor activities to ensure customer orders are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role coordinates workflow, assigns work, monitors quality, expedites production, and serves as a liaison between the Production Planner, production team. The Production Floor Lead helps maintain a productive work environment while ensuring company quality standards and customer expectations are met.



Responsibilities/Duties:


  • Lead and coordinate daily production floor operations to achieve production goals.
  • Assign and prioritize work based on production schedules established by the Production Planner.
  • Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and ensure orders move efficiently through each stage of production.
  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks to maintain workflow and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Provide customers with order status updates and communicate production timelines or delays professionally.
  • Coordinate with the Production Planner regarding schedule changes, material availability, and production priorities.
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout the production process to ensure products meet company standards.
  • Train, mentor, and support production team members on processes, equipment, and quality expectations.
  • Ensure production documentation, work orders, and materials are accurate and complete before jobs move to the next stage.
  • Promote and enforce a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Assist with inventory movement, material staging, and production support as needed.
  • Report production performance, quality concerns, and operational issues to management.
  • Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement across the production floor.
  • Flag orders at risk of missing ship dates.
  • Help prioritize production based on customer commitments.
  • Maintain a dashboard of late and at-risk orders.
  • Coordinate reprints or corrections when quality issues occur. 


Minimum Qualifications Required:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2โ€“5 years of experience in manufacturing, textile, apparel, or print-on-demand production.
  • Previous experience leading or coordinating a production team preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Comfortable communicating professionally with customers regarding order status and production updates.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with production tracking or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
