Job description

Ergon - West Virginia, Inc. in Newell, WV currently has an opening for an Information Systems Specialist.

The Information Systems Technician provides end user support for hardware, software and technology systems.

Information Systems Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Keep safe work habits as the highest priority at all times
  • Develop good working relationships with all co-workers, customers, and associates.
  • Administer Microsoft Active Directory, including, users, groups, permissions, and access to network shares.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 platform for end user accounts.
  • Install and support computer hardware to include PC's, printers and IP phones.
  • Install and support operating systems, software, Office 365 and configuring user profiles.
  • Provide support for conference room IT equipment and connections.
  • Troubleshoot network components and related hardware.
  • Manage end user system imaging deployment.
  • Maintain current PC and server backups using centralized backup and recovery software.
  • Manage warranties on IT related equipment and maintain an asset tracking spreadsheet.
  • Process work requests submitted through help desk environment and provides face to face assistance when needed.
  • Provide 24/7 technical support as requested.
  • Demonstrate purposeful growth through self-study to develop new skills and identify and execute continuous improvement projects.

Information Systems Specialist Requirements:

  • Requires a high school diploma or G.E.D equivalent with relevant job experience.
  • Associates degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Windows administration and Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory/Windows/Azure environment administration and a basic understanding of Ethernet/Wi-Fi networks preferred.
  • Experience with basic PC hardware troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are also required.
  • Customer service mindset and works well independently or as part of a team.
