Job description

Operations Supervisor

We are looking for an Operations Supervisor to oversee multiple value streams and production efforts on the 3rd shift for this industry-leading manufacturing operation. Responsibilities: Operations Supervisor

  • Ensure production goals are met within value streams to achieve quality and productivity metrics. Communicate with sales on any issues or changes. Serve as 3rd "Head Coach for production operations
  • Direct value stream operation in accordance with policies, principals, and procedures established by the group and corporate management to maintain and enhance operations.
  • Develop and provide leadership to the value stream team to drive operational efficiency, working capital management, and financial success.
  • Manage the daily operation of multiple value streams with accountability for interacting with Planning, Purchasing, Materials, Lean/CI, Quality, and other departments to ensure the goals of the value stream are met.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams and departments in the organization to operate most efficiently
  • Direct and support the development of value stream employees
  • Coordinate with HR on all aspects of employee relations including, but not limited to, employee interviewing, hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, complaints, scheduling, training, and development, etc.
  • Create timelines, action plans, 1st, and 2nd level Pareto's, and improvement action data.
  • Ensure that key responsibilities are optimized, such as daily order execution, productivity/efficiency and process adherence. This will be measured by ongoing improvements in driving safety, quality, productivity and efficiency.
  • Actively participate in setting KPI's and work closely with value streams to achieve KPI's.
  • Review the weekly and monthly shipping schedules and production capabilities to determine how to manage employees within the shift and coordinate with other shift managers daily.
  • Participate in overall production planning and translate plans into specific manufacturing objectives, activities and schedules.
  • Utilize lean tools such as: Kaizen, OEE, Value Stream Mapping, and Standard Work to drive waste out of their assigned shift.
  • Maintain coordination of scheduling, supervision, and the actual manufacturing of products
  • Identify opportunities for productivity improvement/cost reduction within the value streams.

Requirements: Operations Supervisor

  • Bachelor's degree or Additional related experience
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing environments is preferred
