Hercules Materials Holdings - Operations Manager - Toledo, OH.

Compensation: $75,000 - $92,000

$50/hr for Saturday work, Eligible for end of year bonus as well

Hercules Concrete is currently seeking anOperations Managerto run our aggregate hauling terminal located inToledo, OH.Our Aggregate division is called Detroit Aggregate. The Operations Manager is the leader of the operation and they are responsible for managing about 10 drivers, and 2 dispatchers. This is a new location for us, so these numbers will increase and you'll be involved in the hiring process.

What we do:We are a concrete / ready mix supplier in Metro Detroit. Essentially, we have an aggregate division and 8 concrete plants. Our Aggregate team picks up and delivers materials to our concrete plants. From there, we make or "batch" concrete and then deliver it to our customers (usually at commercial job sites).

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • Prior Concrete or Logistics management experience is strongly preferred
  • Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees
  • Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
  • High aptitude for technology
  • The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
  • Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work 60 hours/week average
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring a DOT compliant operation
  • Monitor and approve hours of service and payroll for drivers and office personnel on-site
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, firing, disciplinary action, and training
  • Review work orders, purchase orders, and inventory to ensure accuracy
  • Send documents to the corporate office pertaining to finances, accounting and operational efficiency
  • Report to ownership on any discrepancies or successes that you are having
  • Working with the Director of Maintenance to schedule on-site vehicle maintenance
  • Communicating with the Plants and ownership about materials needs and ensuring that our plants have enough product on hand to never stop production
  • Provide leadership and accountability to the team to ensure a successful operation!
