Job description

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Plant Operations Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations within a high-volume production facility. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing multiple operational departments, driving safety, quality, production efficiency, and continuous improvement while developing high-performing teams. The Operations Manager partners closely with cross-functional departments to ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Lead daily operations across multiple manufacturing departments, including receiving, processing, production, packaging, warehousing, and shipping. Direct and support production supervisors and operations personnel to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and customer service objectives. Ensure production schedules are executed efficiently while meeting cost, quality, and service expectations. Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency, reliability, and overall plant performance. Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for operational processes. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve manufacturing performance. Support the development and execution of plant safety programs while maintaining a strong safety culture. Ensure compliance with all company policies, GMPs, food safety standards, sanitation requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Prepare for and participate in regulatory and customer inspections. Monitor inventory levels for operational supplies and coordinate purchasing as needed. Prepare operational reports and performance metrics for plant leadership. Evaluate team performance, provide coaching and development, and build strong employee engagement. Lead hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and employee development activities. Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, performance issues, and policy administration. Foster positive communication across departments to support plant goals and customer requirements. Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Human Resources, Purchasing, Finance, and other functional teams to achieve operational objectives. Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, Food Science, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience. Previous supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment. Food and/or beverage manufacturing experience strongly preferred. Experience leading multiple production departments in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Continuous Improvement experience (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, or similar methodologies) preferred. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and operational metrics. Experience working with Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems. Preferred Skills Strong leadership and team development abilities. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to drive operational improvements and process optimization. Experience managing employee performance and building positive workplace culture. Ability to make sound business decisions using data and operational metrics. Knowledge of GMPs, food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.
