Job Description

You will be the Production Operations Sr. Manager that serves as the senior operations lead for the site. Reporting directly to the Site Director, in this newly combined role you will lead both Production Operations and Production Planning & Control organizations. You will own end-to-end execution of cost and schedule production performance across the factory while building high-performing teams to support our continued ramp-up and expansions.

What You Will Be Doing As the Production Operations Sr. Manager, your Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide strategic and hands-on leadership to Production Operations, the Production Planning & Control (PP&C) team, and the Performance Management (PMT) teams
  • Develop, coach, and grow talent at all levels - with a deep appreciation for the frontline workforce and a visible, engaging presence on the factory floor
  • Deliver consistent site output by meeting weekly standard hour targets and achieving on-time delivery
  • Build genuine trust by spending significant time where the work happens, fostering a culture where team members feel valued and motivated to deliver their best
  • Foster strong cross-functional alignment (Ops, Engineering, Quality) and communication from the factory floor, through program IPTs, and external stakeholders
  • Drive operational excellence through disciplined processes, continuous improvement - including organizational staffing to meet schedule and cost objectives

Further Information About This Opportunity This position is in Chelmsford. Discover more about our Chelmsford, Massachusetts location. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. A company-sponsored interim Secret clearance is required to start.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations or production management, including leadership as a leader of leaders in a complex production environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business Management, or a related field (preferred; equivalent experience considered)
  • U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to partner effectively with manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, safety, and finance functions to align priorities and resolve bottlenecks
  • Experience managing budgets (including overhead), developing strategy, and translating long-term goals into actionable plans
  • Strong communication, influencing, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage frontline teams and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success establishing KPIs, driving data-informed decisions
  • Experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives (Lean and or Six Sigma Greenbelt trained)

  • Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
  • Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
  • Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
  • Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $124,900 - $220,225. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
  • Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
