Job description

Purpose of the Job

The Sourcing Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end production sourcing process, including vendor selection, cost negotiation, production planning, and delivery management. This role ensures that products are sourced efficiently, meet quality standards, and are delivered on time while maintaining cost targets and supplier compliance.

This will be a hybrid position based in Chicago, IL on site at the client. This role will be required to be in office 2-3 days per week, with the ability to work from home the remaining days.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand brand objectives and leverage POS strategies to support them effectively
  • Handle a multitude of complex and diverse product-type categories, including Display, POP/POS, and branded merchandise.
  • Sourcing & Vendor Management
    • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers aligned with company standards.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international vendors.
    • Lead negotiations on pricing, lead times, and production capacity.
    • Monitor vendor performance using KPIs (quality, on-time delivery, compliance).
    • Ensure vendors adhere to ethical sourcing, sustainability, and regulatory standards.
  • Production Planning & Execution
    • Manage the production lifecycle from development through final delivery.
    • Collaborate with creative, production coordinators, and client production manager teams on timelines and requirements.
    • Track production progress and proactively resolve delays or issues.
  • Cost Management
    • Analyze cost structures and identify savings opportunities.
    • Drive cost reductions through strategic sourcing and process improvements.
    • Maintain target costing and margin expectations.
    • Evaluate alternative sourcing options to optimize cost efficiency.

Knowledge, Skills + Experience

  • 2+ years of product category account management experience. Alc-Bev experience a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience independently managing multiple complex product-type categories.
  • Demonstrated relationship building through client interfacing.
  • Skilled in project management, planning, analysis, and problem solving. .
  • Able to work with little-to-no direct supervision while still being part of a team.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office software, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated aptitude in learning new technology for application in a professional environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt across a wide range of business scenarios, including fast-paced environments.
  • Experience excelling within fast-paced, high-energy environments.

For Illinois applicants: The US base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000 annually. Actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, certifications and work location. This range may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation for this package includes annual performance bonus targets.
