Job description

Blentech Corporation is seeking a seasoned Machine Shop Production Supervisor II  to lead our Santa Rosa machine shop operations. In this leadership role, you will bridge the gap between complex engineering designs and physical production, ensuring our custom food processing equipment meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. We are looking for an expert who can mentor a diverse team while maintaining hands-on technical involvement in high-precision machining.
Key Responsibilities
  • Production Leadership: Direct daily activities, assign tasks based on skill level, and manage the shop floor schedule in coordination with Production Manager to meet strict deadlines.
  • Technical Oversight: Perform first-article inspections to ensure tight tolerances and surface finishes match CAD drawings. Provide "over-the-shoulder" guidance for complex setups on CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines.
  • Process Improvement: Identify production bottlenecks and implement Lean Manufacturing principles or improved machining strategies to increase throughput.
  • Safety & Maintenance: Enforce rigorous safety protocols (PPE, LOTO) in accordance with Cal/OSHA standards and oversee preventative maintenance (PM) schedules for all machinery.
  • Team Development: Lead and train a team of 6+ machinists, conducting performance reviews and fostering a culture of continuous professional growth.
  • Inventory Management: Manage the procurement of raw materials, specialized tooling, and inserts while maintaining an organized inventory.
What you Bring to the Team
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in CNC manufacturing and supervisory roles.
  • Technical Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in CNC programming (G-code), CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360), and reading blueprints/GD&T.
  • Materials Expertise: Deep understanding of machining stainless steel and food-grade alloys.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to resolve conflicts, manage priorities, and drive a high-performance culture.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite.
Physical Requirements & Environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods and walk/work in a workshop environment close to the manufacturing floor
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 40 pounds
  • Visual acuity for close work, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Tolerance for a work environment with moderate to loud noise levels
